Under 18 Accommodation

Milner College accepts students from the age of 16 onwards, however in order for Milner College to admit a student under the age of 18 they must have a legal guardian in Perth and also adequate accommodation.

Furthermore, under the Migration Regulations, visa applicants under the age of 18 must demonstrate that they will be accompanied by a parent or legal custodian, a suitable relative or that the student’s education provider approves the arrangements for the student’s accommodation, support and general welfare.

Pathway 1 – The student will live in Australia with a parent or legal custodian.

Milner College will need the contact details of the  student’s guardian and the nature of their relationship, (for example is the guardian a parent or a legal custodian). The nominated guardian must be in Perth at the same time as the student.

Form 157N Nomination of a Student Guardian will also need to be completed.

A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will only be issued once all documents have been provided and welfare arrangements have been confirmed.

A Confirmation of Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) form will only be provided once arrangements for the student have been confirmed.

Pathway 2 – The student will live in Australia with a relative over 21 years of who has been nominated by  a parent or legal custodian.

Milner College will need confirmation from the student’s parents that a relative has been nominated to act as legal guardian. Full contact details must be provided to the school and proof that they are at least 21 years of age. Milner College also needs evidence that the relative has the right to remain in Australia for the period of the student’s stay, or until the student turns 18, whichever happens first.

Form 157N Nomination of a Student Guardian will also need to be completed.

Pathway 3 – The student will live in Australia under accommodation and welfare arrangements that have been organised by Milner College.

Milner College will organise the Homestay arrangements and guardianship will be provided by the International Student Alliance (ISA) for a weekly fee. Please download the Under 18 Student Information Form to apply. It is compulsory for Students under 18 years of age to have return airport transfers booked.
