About Milner
Milner International College of English was established in
Perth in 1984 by Warren and Rose Milner and to this day is a family
owned school. Milner is the oldest school in Perth and the
second oldest in all of Australia. We are a member of
English Australia
and NEAS.
We have established an extremely high reputation over the years for very high teaching standards and many of our students come to us by word of mouth recommendation. Our full time classes are 25 hours face to face teaching a week (unlike many schools which offer 20 hours + 5 hours self study).
We have many extra facilities to make life happy and comfortable for our students. We have our own café, located on the ground floor, Odyssey Café. It is a large, warm and welcoming space where students can buy their breakfast or lunch, or sit and enjoy cake and coffee. We also have a beautiful roof garden situated on the ground floor, at the back of the Milner College building. Students and staff are free to enjoy the garden whenever they like.
We offer students free internet access from our two computer rooms, with fast ADSL link and multi-lingual support. Non-Roman scripts are available. Wireless internet is available free of charge.
There are 6 fully-furnished self-equipped studio apartments in the Milner College building, only a 1-minute walk from your classroom! Up to three people can stay in one apartment.
Our library and listening centre has an extensive range of materials for all levels, catering for beginners through to advanced students. Milner’s librarian is available to assist students in finding appropriate materials. Books, newspapers and magazines are colour coded, so identifying the correct level is easy. Many books have an accompanying CD.

Milner’s Student Advisor is happy to assist students by offering free academic or personal advice.
If you would like extra help with pronunciation, try our free pronunciation classes after school every Tuesday and Thursday.
We have a large lounge area with comfy chairs, sofas and a TV adjacent to our Reception, where students gather during morning and afternoon breaks. Students have access to a small kitchen equipped with microwaves and chilled filtered water.
